Kathryn Chamberlain DECATUR Kathryn Jane Coon Chamberlain, 82, of Decatur died Saturday (Feb. 18, 2012) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Edgar County, the daughter of Owen and Lola Ettoil St. Clair Coon. Survivors include one brother, Jack Coon of Oakland; four sisters, Mary Ann Riley of Champaign, Marcella Shoemaker of Decatur, Norma Neese of Hindsboro and Joan Hartke of Mattoon. She was preceded i in death by one brother.

Ms. Chamberlain was formerly employed as a nurse's aide. Memorials may be made to Oakland 1 Food Pantry. Edgar Courtright SULLIVAN Edgar D. Courtright, 90, of Sullivan died at 7 a.m.

Monday (Feb. 20, 2012) at Decatur Memorial Hospital: Arrangements are incomplete at McMullin- Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Karen Gee MATTOON Karen J. Gee, 63, of Mattoon died at 10:07 p.m. Friday (Feb.

17, 2012) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. There will be no service at this time. Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga is in charge of the arrangements. She was born July 21, 1948, in Mattoon, the daughter of George and Dorothy Shutts Willison. She married Phil Celia Bariether MATTOON Celia Bariether, age 77, of Mattoon, IL passed away at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:40 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon, IL with Reverend Ken Hutchens officiating. Visitation will be from P.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 and from A.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Michell- Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Ave, Mattoon, IL 61938.

Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, IL. Celia was born August 11, 1934 in Paradise Twp, Coles County, IL, the daughter of Mark and Ruth Marie (Hamilton) Highland. She married F.W. "Hezzy" Bariether on January 11, 1953 in Mattoon, IL. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Hezzy Bariether of Mattoon, IL; two daughters, Susan Warren of Mattoon, IL and Sara Coulson of Troy, IL; one son, Tom Bariether of Mattoon, IL; four grand-children, Allison Gaddis of Urbana, IL, Joe Warren and his wife Gee; he died in 1999.

Survivors include her parents, George and Dorothy Willison of Mattoon; one daughter, Shawna Cline of Mattoon; two brothers, George Willison and Carl Willison, both of Mattoon; two grandchildren; and special friend, Rosemary Hearn-Rae of Mattoon. She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Memorials may be made to the family. Susie Herschberger TUSCOLA Susie Herschberger, 88 of Tuscola, formerly of Arthur, died at 8:09 a.m. Saturday (Feb.

18, 2012) at the Arthur Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant View Church in Arcola with the Rev. Wesley Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant View Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola is in charge of the arrangements. She was born Feb.

26, 1923, in Arthur, the daughter of Joseph and Tillie Beachy Schrock. She married Edward Herschberger in 1943; he died. Survivors include one son, Vernon Herschberger of Lindale, Texas; one brother, Dan Schrock of Phoenix; and one sister, Cora Yutzy of McMinnville, Ore. She also was preceded in death by three sons; one daughter; and 13 brothers and sisters. Mrs.

Herschberger was a member of Pleasant View Church in Arcola. Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Church. Rodney Stephens SHELBYVILLE Rodney Roy Stephens, 47, of Shelbyville died at 2:44 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 19, 2012) at Shelby Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Friday.

Masonic rites Kendra of rural Mattoon, IL, Jonathon Coulson of Banda Aceh, Indonesia and Oliver Coulson of Highland, IL; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Warren and Ashton Warren both of rural Mattoon, IL. Celia was a retired employee of Wal-Mart in Mattoon, IL; where she worked in the Fabrics and Crafts Department for over twenty years. Celia was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Mattoon, IL and their Joyful Singers Choir since its inception. She was member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending her spare time sewing, gardening and traveling with her husband Hezzy.

Celia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. Other survivors include mother and stepfather, Judy and Ron Pollard of Shelbyville; father and stepmother, Clem and Pat Stephens of Shelbyville; four sons, Randy Stephens, Roger Stephens, Roderick "Reece" Stephens and Rodney "Rance" Stephens, all of Shelbyville; one daughter, Marissa Metzger of Moweaqua; four brothers, Roger Stephens of Shelbyville, Ronnie Stephens of Olney, R.J. Pollard of Mt.

Auburn, and Andy Stephens of Effingham; three sisters, Chris Walker of Shelbyville, LaDonna Yandell of Frankfort, and Hillary Stephens of Effingham; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four grandparents. Mr. Stephens was formerly employed with Jacobs Field Service in Decatur. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge 53 in Shelbyville, Shelby County Shrine Club, and Old River Chapter of ABATE in Shelbyville.

Entombment was at Dodge Grove Mausoleum in Mattoon. Organist Ardys Carpenter Behm service MATTOON The funeral for Gail Behm was Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Mattoon with the Rev.

Ken Hutchens officiating. Burial was at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon. Shrader Funeral Home in Arcola was in charge of the arrangements. Vocalist Linda Podeschi and organist Allen Webner performed "Mary Did You Know." Congregational hymns were "How Great Thou Art," "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace." The pallbearers were Dr. Kyle Minor, T.J.

Conlin, Riley Behm, Edward Behm III, Trevor Behm and Benjamin Helfrich. The honorary pallbearers were Anna Minor, Courtney Minor, Katie Conlin, Sarah Helfrich, Dazy Behm, Margarete Behm, Mary Behm, Timothy Behm, Brett Behm, Andrew Behm and David Behm. Mrs. Behm, 78, of Mattoon died Feb. 13, 2012, at Wuesthoff Hospital in Melbourne, Fla.

Paul service 'CHARLESTON The funeral for Robert Paul was Saturday at Adams Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Wright officiating. Burial was at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston. Musical selections included "Stairway to Heaven," "Angel" and "Amazing Grace." The pallbearers were Michael Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Fernando Garza, Michael Dunning, Nicholas Dunning, Dale Cassiday, Robert Paul and James Paul. Mr.

Paul, 53, of Paddock Lake, formerly of Charleston, died Feb. 10, 2012, in Wisconsin. Lois Matheny (Matheny) Rich, husband Chad; Rob, Garrett, Amanda MATTOON Lois R. Matheny, 90, of Mattoon, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home, Mattoon, IL.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until the Matheny time of serv- Matheny ice at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, Illinois. Rev. Derold R.

Doughty of Apostolic Center will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Lois was born April 21, 1921 in Mattoon, Illinois. She was the daughter of Merle J. and Ruth (Marshall) Fuqua.

She married Robert R. Matheny in St. Charles, Missouri, and they shared 34 years before he preceded her in death in 1976. He is also survived by three children, Mark Homann and wife Nancy of Freeburg, IL, Matt Homann and wife Paula of Mattoon, IL, and Kenny Homann and wife Kim of Jacksonville, IL; and four grandchildren, Jake and Jenny Homann of Freeburg, IL, and Megan and Myles Homann of Jacksonville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

As a lifelong member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Steve had served as Trustee Billy Jones MATTOON Billy Joe "B.J." Jones, 83, of Mattoon, passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Gowin Parc. Graveside services with military rites by V.F.W. Post 4325 will be held at 2:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Jones February 21, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. No visitation is planned. The Schilling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. B.J. was born on January 4, 1929 in rural Gays the son of Lucian H.

and Vera (Scoles) Jones. He married Juanita Raef Willard on June 6, 1953. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and his second brother, Robert L. Jones.

He later married Louise Atchley on March 1, 1997 his second devoted wife. Survivors include his wife, Louise Atchley of Mattoon; son, Tommy J. Jones and wife Hollie of Rowlette, Texas; daughters, Mary A. Ward and husband Richard of Decatur; Jeanne Lou Atchley Bubeck and husband Gordon of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Charles Jones and wife Joyce of Tuscola; sisters, Louise Wilson of Gainesville, In Loving Memory of Ryan McFarland 10-16-1973 2-21-2003 I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought of you yesterday and days before that too.

I think of you in silence, I speak your name with pride. I can't believe you're gone nine years, it hurts so much inside. I love and miss you so much Mom and Head Usher, as well as serving on numerous other committees. He raised his children and supported his family as a farmer and was considered a steward of the land. As a member of the Coles County Farm Bureau, he had served as past president and held several offices.

He devoted more than 20 years of service and served as Trustee to both the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department and the Humboldt Township. Steve also served on the Board of Trustee's for the Local Drainage District, the Board of Directors for the ASCS, the Mattoon High School Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors for The Farmer's Grain Company in Dorans, IL. As is evident with his career choice, Steve had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to be outside gardening, grilling out, or hunting and fishing. He also raised and trained birddogs and enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and was a fan of NASCAR.

Time with his family, however, was his most treasured way to spend the day. Steve was a friendly fellow who never met a stranger and was known for his green hat, shirt, and socks. Jones Florida; Lucille Thompson and husband James W. "Bill" of Windsor, Florida; three grandchildren, Michael R. Ward and wife Sue of Chicago; Matthew Todd Ward and wife Mary of Chicago; Amanda Kent and husband Bryan of California; great grandchildren, Sophie Ward and Milo Ward both of Chicago. B.J. retired from General Electric Company after twenty -eight years as an electrician.

He was also employed for ten years with former U.S.I. Plant in Tuscola. He was a member of the Ash Grove Christian Church. B.J. was past commander of the V.F.W.

post 4325, Past Commander of the American Legion, member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a former member of the Eagles Club. B.J. proudly served his country as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was one of the survivors of the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.
