She was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Westfield, the daughter of Har-man and Nettie Goble Davis.

She married J. Boyd Lowery in 1938. He died in 1968. She married James Cooper in 1971. He died in 1992.

Surviving are four sons, Ross Lowery of Springfield, Scott Lowery of Beaumont, Texas, John Lowery of Normal, and Todd Lowery of Rushville; three brothers, Paul Davis and Harold Davis, both of Charleston, and Gene Davis of Casey; and 12 grandchil-dren. She was also preceded in death by twin infant daughters, one son and one brother. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the 1st Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Rushville, a member and past Worthy Matron of Rushville Eastern Star, P.E.O. Chapter AL, and was active with Rushville Meals on Wheels Memorials may be made to the Wesley Village Health Care Center.

Elizabeth Cruse BETHANY Elizabeth Jean Cruse, 72, of Bethany died at 2:45 a.m. Friday (March 26, 1999) at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan, with the Rev.

Charles Witte officiating. Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m, today at the funeral home. She was born April 18, 1926, in Mount Pulaski, the daughter of Mack Clyde and Elva Odesa Patterson Cruse. Surviving are one brother, Harold Dean Cruise of Sullivan; two sisters, Mrs.

Robert W. (Irma Lowery of Assumption and Mrs. James W. (Alberta Buxton of Stella, N.C.; and ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister.

Miss Cruse was a member of the Bethany First Christian -Church and the Kum Join Us Sunday School class. She had worked in area restaurants and earlier for Brown Shoe Company, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the Bethany First Christian Church. Ruth Greathouse HINDSBORO Ruth Greathouse, 88, of Hindsboro died at 8 a.m. Sunday (March 28, 1999) at her residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hindsboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lana Robyne officiating. Burial will be in Van Voorhis Cemetery, Hindsboro. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.

until service time Tuesday at the church. Taber Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of the arrangements. She was born Oct. 2, 1910, in Hindsboro, the daughter of Norma Bourne NOBLE Norma L. (Poola) Bourne, 70, of Noble, died at 11:35 p.m.

Friday (March 26, 1999) at St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville, Ind. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stasi-Grb've Funeral Home, Olney. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the fu-neral home. She was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Graham, the daughter of Clyde and Ora Lampkin. She married Loy Bourne in 1946.

He survives. Also surviving are one son, Loy Bourne of Ashmore; one daughter, Vicki Conley of Effingham; and three sisters, Neva King of Noble, Theresa Bulla of Wilson, Joann Holder of Healdton, Okla. 1 She was preceded in death by three sisters. Mrs. Bourne was a home-maker and a member of Grace-Evangelical Church, Olney.

She was a 25-year member of the Home Extension Service, Memorials may be made to Gideon International or the American Diabetes Foundation. Ophelia Coleman PARIS Ophelia Coleman, 88, of Paris died at 11:50 a.m. Friday (March 26, 1999) at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith Funeral Home, Paris, with the Rev.

Kenneth Bass officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Kansas. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Jan. 30, 1911, in Roundhill, the daughter of Thomas and Otilla Ray Whalin.

She married Lonnie Coleman in 1933. He died in 1986. Surviving are three sons, Leroy Q. Coleman of Valparaiso, Donald Coleman of Camp, and Howard W. Coleman of Glenville, W.V.; one daughter, Carolyn Sublett of Chrisman; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and three Mrs. Coleman was a home-maker, a member of the Bethla-hem Church of Christ in Round-hill, and an avid reader and quilter. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. Doris Cooper MACOMB Doris D. (Lowery) Cooper, 80, formerly of Rushville, died at 1 a.m.

Saturday (March 27, 1999) at the Wesley Village Health Care Center, Macomb. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the 1st Christian Church, Rushville, with the Rev. Robert Belew officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m.

He married Oma Oakley in 1949. She survives. Memorials may be made to the Toledo United Methodist Church. Lola Newlan LOVINGTON Lola Loral Newlan, 97, of Lovington died at Friday (March 26, 1999) at the Sullivan Living Center. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington.

Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington. She was born May 15, 1901, in Fayette County, the daughter of Sylvester Clarence and Letha King Newlan. She married Alvin L. Newlan in 1921. He died in 1979.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin Newlan and Mervil Newlan, both of Lovington; Ruth Beals of Colorado Springs, seven -W; A Ermah F. Perry MATTOON Ermah F. Perry, age 92, of Mat-toon, passed away at 3:32 p.m. Friday, March 26, 1999 at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home. Perry was born January 25, 1907 at Mattoon, a daughter of Alsephas Robinson and Bertha Malora Myers Allemang. She married George William Perry in 1926, he preceded in death in 1988. Clara Shupe TOLEDO Clara Shupe, 89, ol Toledo died at 7:50 p.m. Fri- day (March 26, 1999) at the Cum-berland Nursing Centert Greenup. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Christ The Kim Catholic Church, Greenup, with Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be in Janesville Ceme-tery.

-She was born Sept. 7, 1909, in Neoga, the daughter of Henry and Sarah Oliver McCall. She married James Leo Shupe in 1928. He died in 1985. Surviving are three sons, James Shupe of Mattoon and Carl Shupe and Walter Shupe, both of Greenup; one daughter, rveiyn aiarwait oi Toledo; 14 -grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-' She was also preceded in death sister, and one granddaughter.

She married Vernon Hatfill in 1937. She was adored by all who knew her. She touched the Uvea of her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, dren, grandchildren, and greatr-grandchildren. Fern always shared her love, goodies, and home with every--one. She was truly a blessing to them all. of Mattoon, Robert D.

Ruby Moore Perry Moore Ruby Alice Moore, 98, of Mattoon, passed away at 9:14 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 1999, at the Sunrise Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mattoon. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m.

on Tuesday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. E.E. Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the fu-neral home. Ruby was born in Mattoon on July 10, 1900, a daughter of Amos and Nora Flemming Sweet. Survivors include one son, James Moore and wife Jack D. Winkleblack EUFAULA, ALABAMA Funeral services for Jack D.

Winkleblack, age 70, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday March 29, 1999, in the 1st Presbyterian Church of Eufaula with the Rev. John Boyer officiating and Chapman Funeral Home directing. The burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 3 1, 1999, in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, Illinois, with the Rev.

PatrickMurphy officiating and Harper-Swickard Funeral Home directing. Mr. Winkleblack died Friday March 26, 1999, in Eufaula. He was born May 25, 1928, in Charleston, the son of the late William Winkleblack and Nellie Bails Winkleblack. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1950.

He entered the US Army and served as a 2nd Lt. with the US Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He served in the following capacities: Past Exalted Ruler of the Elkhart Elks Club (Elkhart, Founder and owner of Alabama Inter-Forest Corp. of Eufaula (1982); a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Bevill Center for Advanced Electronics in Eufaula; Currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama; Past President of the Eufaula-Barbour County Chamber of Commerce; Past Deacon of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Eufaula; Past President of the Eufaula Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow; past member of the Board of Directors of the Lakeside School in Eufaula; Membership chairman of the Barbour County Republican Executive Committee. Surviving are wife, Sue Huffman Winkleblack of Eufaula; one daughter, Jeri Winkleblack of Tallahassee, two sons, Doug Winkleblack and his wife, Mary of Eufaula and Jason Winkleblack of Eufaula; two grandchildren, Max and LaneyWinkleblack of Eufaula; one sister, Dorothy Monts of Charleston.
