SATURDAY, JULY 17, 2004 LIFESTYLES LEE PUBLICATIONS, INC. WEDDINGS Dowling, Thomas united in marriage CHARLESTON Kelly Dowling of Charleston, daughter of Don and Penny Dowling of Charleston, became the bride of Justin Thomas, also of Charleston, in a June 12, 2004, ceremony. He is the son of Tim and Rhonda Tuthill and Bill and Kathy Thomas of Charleston. The Rev. Ray Allen performed the outdoor, doublering ceremony at the home of the bride's grandparents, Jack and Donna Helton.

The bride wore a fulllength gown styled with spaghetti straps and a small train. She carried a bouquet of purple and white flowers. Teresa Udovich of Mokena attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mika Lawson, Tammy Adams and Hannah Dowling, sister of the bride, all of Charleston. They wore lavender haze gowns and carried purple and white flowers.

Their parents are George and Nancy Orin of Shelbyville and Leon and Carol Redman of Olney. Walter Orin of Shelbyville is the bride's grandfather. The Rev. Mark Sanders officiated the 3 p.m.

Guests were seated by Justin Perry of Paris, Tim Tedford of Dundas, Jason Morgan of Mattoon and Terry Bergener of Olney. McKenzie Orin and Ariel Medlin, cousins of the bride, handed out balloons for a launch following the ceremony. A buffet and dance reception was held at the Thelma Keller Convention Center in Effingham.

An Aug. 14 wedding is planned at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mattoon.

Birthday party, card shower planned for Moye's 83rd CHARLESTON A birthday party is planned on Sunday for the 83rd birthday of Genevive Moye. The event will be at Prairie View Care Center in Charleston. She was born July 18, 1921, in Charleston to Howard and Naomi Ayers. She married Wilburn Moye. She is a member of the First Church of God and enjoys spending time with 1 her family and special dog, Monte.

Cards may be sent to her at Prairie View, Charleston. Call the nursing home for more information. Benefit Sunday for Randy Smyser CHARLESTON A benefit for Randy Smyser of Charleston is scheduled Sunday at the Charleston Eagles Lodge. A meal, including chicken, potato salad, baked beans and chips, will begin at 11 a.m. Hot dogs will also be available.

The cost is $3 for adults, and $2 for children 12 and under. An auction will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a performance by The Sawyers at 4 p.m. A raffle is planned, and a bake sale and raffles will be ongoing. Proceeds from the events will help with expenses occurred after Smyser suffered a heart attack in May. Cash donations may also be made at First National Charleston, 18th Street in Charleston.

Arrangements to donate cash, merchandise, gift certificates, homemade items and baked goods may be made by calling Dorothy Smyser or Brenda Carrell, 345-2427; Crystal Carrell, 348- 3347; or Kendra Smyser, 348- 1389. REUNION Grissom family The Grissom family reunion will be held Sunday at Morton Park in Charleston. The basket dinner will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the park's west pavilion. Their parents are Roy and Linda Long of Altamont, Vickie Jones of Farina and the late Charles Jones, and Bernard Phyllis Veteto of Edgewood and the late Shelia Jones. The bride's grandmother is Rosemary Souden of Altamont. Grandmothers of the groom are Laurel Carter of Louisville and Elma Jones of Flora.

The Rev. Mitchel and vocalist was April Stuemke; Eric Davidson played the trumpet. Juli Long, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jodi Elliott, Jennifer Kull and Rebeckah Long, sister-in-law of the bride. Melanie Williams, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.

Andrew Long, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Jeff Squibb served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Bill Elliott, John Gleason and Jason Long, brother of the bride. Heather and Vanessa Jones, sisters of the groom, attended the guestbook. Program attendants were Carter and Cierra Jones, children of the groom.

A reception and dance were held in the Texas Room at Lukenbach's Bar and Grill, Altamont. Hostesses were Jan Eckhardt, Carol Laatsch and Judy Trost. Cake servers were Susie Kircher, aunt of the bride; and Heather and Vanessa Jones, sisters of the groom. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Colorado Springs, and now reside in Mattoon. This event will be at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds in Greenup from 8 a.m.

Large, industrial or offroad tires will not be accepted. No tires from businesses or out-of-state vehicles will be accepted. Individuals that have participated in previous tire cleanup events cannot participate again, unless tires are registered under a spouse or other family member's name.

Volunteers are needed to help unload tires during the drop off. Anyone who can help all day or even a half day with this project should contact the extension office by Monday. This is a way to increase community service hours. Lunch will be provided. Hughes, all of Springfield.

Aaliyah weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. Her grandparents are Henry and Judy Marshall, Virgina Blair and Howard Bloxom, all of Mattoon.
