9, 1904, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Louis and Maude Grissom Dittamore. She married Herman Czerwonka in 1923; he died in 1977. Survivors include two sons, Gene and Noble Czerwonka, both of Sigel; a daughter, Ruth Key of Sigel; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mrs.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, the American Nurses Association, the Moose and the IOQF Rebekahs Stephen Leftwich WATSON Stephen F. Leftwich, 43, of Watson died at 11:43 a.m. Thursday (Feb.

13, 1997) at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham. The funeral will be at 1 :30 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Janesville Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. He was born Feb. 7, 1954, the son of Leonard and Helen Leftwich. He married Mary Foote in 1975; she survives. Other survivors include his mother, Helen, of Stanton, Texas; two sons, Darren Leftwich of Effingham and Dale Leftwich of Watson; a daughter, Brigette of Watson; two brothers, Michael Leftwich of California, and Jimmy Leftwich of Texas; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Leftwich worked at Petty Printing in Effingham, He was a member of the Watson Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Markwell and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev.

Anglada Hatfill Brown, 85, ofTuc-son, formerly of Mattoon, died Feb. 8, 1997, in Tucson. The Bradford-CKeefe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Biloxi, Miss. She was born in Biloxi, the daughter of Peter and Citie Lewis Anglada.

She was married to Roy Hatfill and later Melvin Brown; both preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Peter Hatfill of Teutopolis; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Kon-rad of Houston, Texas, and Jim-mielyn Castella of Tucson, nine grandchildren; and eighty great-grandchildren. John's Hospital, Springfield. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St, Paul's Lutheran Church in Strasburg. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Howe Yockey Funeral Home in Strasburg. He was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Strasburg, the son ofWilliam and Caroline Diepholz Lenz. He married Joy Rincker in 1936; she survives.

He is also survived by his son, Larry Lenz of Strasburg; three daughters, Margaret Swank of Neoga, Arlene McCormick of Stewardson and Cathy Allen of Arthur; brother, Martin Lenz of Strasburg; and sister Carolyn Wallace of Strasburg; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was a retired farmer and a member of Shelby County Farm Bureau and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to K.F.U.O. or St.

Paul's Cemetery Fund. Irma Meeks BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. Irma Irene Meeks, 83, of Boynton Beach, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 1997). Oborn Doris Jordan of Charleston has been transferred from Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center to Carle Foundation Herman Alwardt STRASBURG Herman Frederick Alwardt, 83, of Stras-burg died at 2:06 p.m.

Thursday (Feb. 13, 1997) at Shelby Memorial Hospital, Shelbyville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Howe Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg. He was born Feb. 15, 1913, in Effingham County, the son of Henry and Augusta Zepmter Alwardt. He married Vera Dahnke in 1937; she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Morris F. Alwardt of Springfield, and Larry D. Alwardt of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Combs of Marshall, and Mrs. Tony (Betty) Kelley of Houston, Texas; one brother, Theodore Alwardt of Mattoon; two sisters, Helen Dahnke and Clara Wolf, both of Effingham; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Alwardt was a retired farmer and active member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg. He also helped organize the Shelby County Pork Producers. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, or to the Shelby County Heart Fund. Clovis Burch ARCOLA Clovis "Dude" A.

Burch, 81, of Areola died at 3:31 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 13, 1997) in Areola. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Shrader Funeral Home in Areola with the Rev.

Margaret Misal officiating. Burial will be in Areola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born March 22, 1915, in Humboldt, a son of Fred and Nell Britton Burch.

He married Gracie Gray in 1949(; she vives. Survivors also include three stepsons, Ray Wilcox of Las Vegas, and David and Tom Wilcox of Areola; three brothers, John and Orville Burch of Areola, and Bob Burch of Humboldt; and five stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, four brothers and one sister. Mr. Burch had worked on the street maintenance department for the City of Areola and Burch's Hauling.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Tuscola Moose Lodge and was an Army veteran of WW II. Gloria Oborn MATTOON Gloria Jean Oborn, 68, of Mattoon passed away at 1:26 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, at her home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.

on Sunday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Rev. John Besore officiating. Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Gloria was born on September 30, 1928, in Bloom-ington, the daughter of Clifford and Feme Duke Snow.

She spent her childhood in Kankakee. She married Robert W. Oborn on June 4, 1950. He sur Mary Christman SHELBYVILLE Mary E. Christman, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away at 7:38 p.m.

Thursday (Feb. 13, 1997) in the Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville. I Mrs. Christman was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Ridge Shelby the daughter of W.

E. and Mary Catherine Williams Lane. She married Dale H. Christman March 1, 1942, in Moweaqua, IL; he passed away Jan. 12, 1992.

She was affiliated with the Hentdn Church of God. She was a member of the Westervelt Auxiliary and the Ladies Birthday Club. She formerly operated a beauty shop in her home and later worked as a beautician at the Monique in Shelbyville. She formerly operated a ceramic ship in Westervelt. Surviving are one son, Jack and wife Debbie of Murphysboro, IL; one daughter Suzy Hart and husband Carl of Shelbyville; one daughter-in-law, Vickie Christman of Mattoon; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dale four brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Lockart and Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the Donors Choice. vives. Other survivors include one son, J. Brad Oborn and his wife Sharon of Aurora; one daughter, Lynn Oborn of Watervliet, New York; and one granddaughter, Kersten Oborn of Aurora.

Mrs. Oborn was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and received a bachelor's degree from the University pf Tulsa. She taught primary grades in Oklahoma. Gloria was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mattoon where she served as Deacon, Elder, member of Ruth's Circle and held other positions in the church. She served as president in the South Eastern Illinois Presbytery and most recently served on the Pulpit Nominating Committee.

She was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, and P.E.O. Sisterhood where she held several offices in both organizations. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mattoon or to the American Cancer Society..
