Mattoon police TEMPERATURE PRECIPITATION 50 40 Figures indicate maximum temperatures Rock, was issued a ticket Monday morning after an accident on an off-ramp of 1-57. Mayhue was reportedly backing from a stop sign at the ramp and U.S. 45 when his truck struck the front end of a car driven by Randy L. Greenwood of Neoga.

Lori A. Homann, 17, of 909 S. 16th, was issued a ticket early Monday morning after a collision on the 2000 block of U.S. 45. Homann reportedly left the scene and made a false report about the accident involving Harold R.

Hagemier of Loogootee, Ind. The driver of a motorcycle reportedly lost control while exiting 1-57 Monday morning. The bike, driven by Larry L. Burgess, of Neoga, ended up in a ditch. Vandalism was reported Monday morning by a custodian of Armstrong Center, 1400 Piatt.

Fourteen of the building's windows were broken. Vandalism was reported Monday afternoon by Timothy Fedrigon, of 1413 Lafayette. Fedrigon told police that someone had thrown an egg at his car, damaging the paint. Lewis of rural Mattoon, Lewis told police that he and a friend were walking northbound on the shoulder of S. 25th Street when an unidentified vehicle struck Lewis. The vehicle was passing another car when it struck Lewis resulting in injuries to his hand. The theft of a television set and its stand was reported Friday afternoon by Rick Joe Fritts of Windsor. Fritts told police the items, valued at about $200, were taken sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.

The theft of a purse from a motor vehicle was reported Friday night by Rebecca J. Rawlings of Villa Grove. Rawlings told police her car was parked at 2513 Marshall when the purse and contents, worth about $200, were taken. Vandalism to a vehicle was reported Friday night by Andrea Wall of Humboldt. Wall told police her car was parked at Mattoon Manor, 1000 Palm, when someone splattered ink on it.

Leland Ralph Shobe 35, of Toledo, was issued a ticket Saturday morning for driving while his license was revoked. William L. Rague, 45, of 313 Woodlawn, was issued a ticket early Saturday morning after a collision in city parking lot C. Rague was reportedly backing out of a parking space when his car struck an unattended parked car owned by Jean Albinof Harrisburg. Theft from a motor vehicle was reported Saturday night by Louis Nihiser of 109 Prairie.

Nihiser told police a Citizen's Band radio from his car while it was parked at his address. The radio, valued at about $200, was taken sometime during the past three weeks. Registered license plates were reported stolen Sunday night by Marion L. Knowles, of 1113 Edgar. Knowles told police the plates were taken from a garage at her address.

Donald H. Wilson, 63, of 2500 Charleston, was issued a ticket Monday morning after a collision at the intersection of Marshall Avenue and 16th Street. According to the police report, Wilson was southbound on 16th Street when he struck the rear end of a car driven by Rebecca D. Sturts, of 1913 Shelby. Robert A.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Paul Newman CHARLESTON. Paul V. Newman, 75, of 1415 18th St. died at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday (Oct. 28, 1984) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday in Caudill-King Funeral Home with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mr.

Newman was born May 12, 1909, in Charleston, a son of Clyde P. and Ingeborg P. Prom Newman. He was married to Eleanor Callahan on Nov. 11, 1929, at Terre Haute, Ind.

She survives. Funeral services were Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, Booneville. Mrs. Tuley resided in Charleston from 1972 to 1974. Friday in Schilling's Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Burial was in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Valerie Gibson, organist, played "In the Garden" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Pallbearers were Richard Craig, 'Ernest Sestina, Ernest Welch, Warren Meeker and Gregory and Steven Callhoun. Mrs. Timmons, 91, formerly of 2221 Charleston, died Tuesday (Oct. 23, 1984) in Hilltop Convalescent Center, Charleston.
