I hope they'll be ready to go next week which would give us seven practices before the first game." Wagner said. Wagner said he's looking at seven or eight players, any of whom could win a starting berth Assuming Anderson jrtins the likely starting trio of Dobbs. England and Corley. that means the fifth position is still open.

Wagner said whomever fills the filth spot could be dictated by the type of team Sullivan is facing and Ih'e type of plan they want to employ Wagner said there was no doubt some questions still have to be answered belore Sullivan finds the right combination Overall. Wagner diagnosed his team as good shooters with fair quickness He stresses the fact the seniors have played together since seventh grade and thus know' each other's style of play-Last year dissension hurt Ihe team, but Wagner said "1 don't Ihink that we'll have thai problem this year The Redskins will probahlv he-rooking for a lot of 14 to 15 foot shols they lack Ihe size to force it under Ihe basket all Ihe time, but Anderson has the ability to drive it in Wagner said his learn will try Jo get down Ihe floor and fast break when the opportunity is there, but if not. the Redskins will set it up and 'or ork it dow the floor. Joseph-Ogdeh Okaw Valley Conference game. By CRAIG SANDERS JG SUN Writer SULLIVAN Sine seventh grade, a group of Sullivan cagm have been playing together their final season is about to dawn It will be a big one The seven seniors are expected to form the nucleus around which Sullivan High School basketball coach Larry Wagner will build the 1980 81 Redskins Three of tbe group enter the season with varsity basketball letters on their jackets Kevin Corley, Troy Anderson and Jerry Dobbs all held starting positions at one time or another last year. With the opening of the season less than two weeks away, the three are expected to be full-time starters. Last year Dobbs averaged 5 7 points per game. Anderson 5 9 per game and Corley 5.7 per game.

Other seniors in the group include Kevin England, Nate Nichols, Mark Connor and Scott Bales The group has just two problems First, they aren't very tall, nor are the team's juniors. The other is injuries agner lamented he's never encountered as many injuries prior to the start of a season as he has this year Dobbs and Anderson have yet to practice because they have injuries they sustained during football season Wagner said rather than have them working at a halfway pace, he has them sitting out practice until they heal. Also hampered by injuries is junior Jim Mossmaiu Mossman recently underwent knee surgery and probably won't be back until after Christmas. Wagner said. Scott Righter also has a knee injury, Wagner aid even the team's trainer injured his foot "I hope that's not a sign for the entire season, Wagner said Of the players Wagner has been able to look at in practice, he said England has been a consistent player who has improved a great deal over last year.

England played in nine games as a junior. Nichols got in three games and Conner two games Bales did not play basketball last season 4 Kevin Corley Troy Anderson Larry Wagner Jerry Dobbs Jell your don't wants with a want ad!
