A jt Disregard for the future Is one of the most fearful conditions of these times. People laugh at the time to come and make a joke of death, the judgment and hell; yet arc rushing on to death, God's judgment, and unless they repent and turn again, to hell, if there is a hell, making little of death temporal and eternal.

Hell Is lightly used as a "by-word" on the part of multitudes without the thought that they might spend eternity In hell. Not only this but it is a very unpopular theme for the put-pit. Most preachers taboo it altogether and. well they may, for many of their leading parishioners would not stand for sermons about hell. Many ministers and leaders of churches over the land would laugh at the writer for devoting a message to this question in the newspaper, or his pulpit But, should it be shunned because it is an unpopular theme? I dare to say, NO! A thousand times, NO! How may we get any certain Information about Heir? Hebrews EWING'S GARAGE For All Kinds of Motor Work, Body and Fender Work, Greasing, Tire and Battery Service, 1301 Broadway I hone 2899 (theology), nor even of the legislations of men, but a thing of revelation, Divine revelation, There are many sources of knowledge and information. Among these we might appeal to philosophy, exploration or science, all of which have been of the highest value in tbc ongoing of the world, but when we stand with the representatives of these through all the ages, at the open grave and ask what they have to tell us. with a certainty, of that which is beyond for man, they all stand as dumb men for they have nothing to say with assurancf, with the light or God's revelation shut out. This makes God's revelation the only possible source of information of that which is beyond death and the grave.

Shut out it's light and we have absolutely nothing. All of us occupy the 'position of the infidel, we know nothing. If God's Word is accepted at face value the matter Is settled for it leaves no room of doubt, since hell is spoken of and depicted as much as a reality, as heaven. If one does not aci-ept this revelation in" what it has to say about hell, on what grounds of reasoning can he accept what it says about heaven? There is little meaning in the thought of a heaven to gain if there is no hell to shun. What is one saved from eternally, if there is no hell in which to be lost eternally! Saved from what, if no hcfl? Can there be such a thing as eternal salvation if there is no such thin? as eternal damnation? How can you think it? If there is no hell what is to be the penalty for God's broken law? Of what force Is a law without a penalty? What becomes of the mission of Jesus to the earth? Why the Gospel? Why disturb man in his sin, if he cannot be lost? Some one asks "is it a literal hell of 'fire and "Is such punishment Consider the language about hell figurative.

If it serves as a true picture, Is not the suffering equal to that which is pictured? What is gained by trying to make it out as God's Word says it Is eternal. Have we any other source of assured Information? But some one says "would a God of love permit such a thing?" It will be despite His love and every measure of grace used by Him for those who are lost. The fear of hell is not an adequate motive for a godly life, though the greater the realization of what it means to be Inst and forever separated from God and all that is' good, the greiter 1 the appreciation for salvation which is wholly a matter of love the love of God that, gave His Son in making provision for man's salvation. Love is the dominating motive for a godly life. It is the motivating power of love, the love of God in the human heart that fills man and thrills him to live for God that he may live forever.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, out have eternal life." This love does not alter the fact of hell but serves to verify It. But thank God that you may escape hell you will, by accepting the Son of His lova im "Vnf your heart and life to Him. it m. ij MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME COMPLETE LAUNDRY, CLEANING AND DYEING SERVICE Let Us Care for All Your Clothes PEERLESS-MODEL CO. 2008 Prairie 1500-1501 Ambulance Service 1204 Wabash Avenue.
